Every Ronora piece is made to order, so the size you give us is the size we make. This guide shows you how to find it accurately before you order.
How to measure your ring size at home
You need a strip of paper about 5mm wide, a pen and a ruler.
- Wrap the paper around the base of the finger, snug but not tight. It should sit where the ring will sit, not further down.
- Mark where the paper overlaps.
- Lay it flat and measure from the end to your mark in millimetres. That number is your finger circumference.
- Find it in the chart below.
If you already own a ring that fits the right finger, there is an easier way: measure the inside diameter of that ring across the widest point, in millimetres, and match it to the diameter column.

Five things that change the answer
-
Time of day. Fingers are smallest in the morning and largest in the evening. Measure late in the day, when your hands are warm.
-
Temperature. Cold fingers can read a full half size smaller. Never measure straight after coming in from the cold.
-
Band width. A wide band feels tighter than a thin one at the same size. For anything above about 6mm, go up a half size.
-
Knuckles. If your knuckle is noticeably larger than the base of your finger, size to slide over the knuckle, then tell us. We can adjust the fit so the ring does not spin.
-
Which hand. Your dominant hand is usually a little larger. Measure the exact finger the ring is for.
Buying a surprise
If you are proposing and cannot measure, the two reliable options are to borrow a ring they already wear on that finger and measure its inside diameter, or to ask someone whose hand is a similar size to try on a ring of theirs.
If neither is possible, US size 6 to 6.5 is the most common women's engagement ring size and US 9 to 10 the most common men's. Tell us you are guessing and we will keep that in mind when we build it.
If the size is wrong
You get one free resize within 6 months of purchase, where the ring design allows it. After 6 months, resizing is a paid service. If we made the ring in the wrong size because of our error, we resize or replace it including all shipping at no cost to you.
Two designs genuinely cannot be resized, so get these right first time:
-
Full eternity bands. There is no plain metal to cut into. A half or three quarter eternity keeps the option open.
-
Tension settings. The stone is held by the pressure of the band itself, so altering the band changes the grip.
Heavily engraved or filigree bands can sometimes be resized, but the pattern may not survive it. Ask us first. Full detail is in our return and exchange policy.
Bracelets and necklaces
Bracelet lengths are measured as the full inside length of the finished piece. Measure around your wrist just below the wrist bone and add about 0.5 inch (1.3cm) for a comfortable tennis bracelet fit. Ronora bracelets are offered in 6.5, 7, 7.5 and 8.5 inch lengths. To see how many stones a tennis bracelet holds on your wrist, open Find Me Diamond and choose Bracelet.
For necklaces, the length is the full chain including the clasp. A 16 inch chain sits at the base of the neck, 18 inch just below the collarbone, and 20 inch at the top of the neckline.
