RINGS MADE TO ORDER
The cushion cut is a square or rectangular stone with rounded corners and curved sides, named for its resemblance to a pillow. It descends directly from the old mine cut, the dominant shape of the 1800s, which is why it reads warmer and more antique than a modern round. Every Ronora cushion is a real CVD lab grown diamond, VVS clarity, D-E-F colorless.
Faceting. A crushed-ice cushion has many small facets producing a shimmering, granular sparkle. A chunky or antique cushion has fewer, larger facets producing broad flashes of fire. Neither is better; they are visibly different and worth choosing between deliberately.
Slightly smaller at the same carat, because its rounded corners cover less finger than a full circle. An elongated cushion, around 1.2 length-to-width, offsets this and flatters the hand more.
Is a cushion durable? Yes, among the most durable shapes. Its rounded corners have no sharp points to chip, unlike a princess or a pear.
Which setting suits it? A halo emphasises the soft outline. A solitaire with four prongs shows the shape most honestly.
The cushion's rounded corners and pillowed face demand a setter's patience. Ours shape each basket by hand until the stone sits like it grew there.
A cut this old comes with assurances this new: IGI certification, free resizing, and returns without a fight.
The cut your great-grandmother would recognize, at a maker's price she would not believe. Two to three times the diamond, same budget.
A softened square with rounded corners, like a pillow. It glows with broader, warmer flashes than the pinpoint sparkle of a round.
Its ancestor, the old mine cut, dates to the 1700s. Today's cushion keeps that romance with modern light performance, and antique cuts are trending hard in 2026.
Cushion for soft vintage character, oval for elongated modern drama. Both look generous for their carat.
Reasonably well, and since ours run VVS to VS clarity anyway, the eye sees nothing but glow.
Yellow or rose gold deepens the antique warmth, especially with a hand-engraved band. White metals turn it icy and fresh.
Yes, eligible center stones come with IGI certification documenting your exact diamond.
