What is the difference between a wedding band and an eternity band?

A wedding band may be plain or partly set. An eternity band carries diamonds the whole way around, which means it cannot be resized later. A half eternity sets stones across the top only, and can be resized, which is why most people who expect finger size to change choose one.

Which setting survives daily wear best?

Bezel and channel settings sit flush and are the most secure, because no prong can catch or lift. Pave is more delicate but returns far more light. If the ring will be worn during manual work or sport, choose bezel.

Should the wedding band match the engagement ring metal? Not necessarily. Mixed metal stacking is common now, and a contoured or curved band will nest against most engagement ring profiles regardless of colour.
