RINGS MADE TO ORDER
This collection gathers every Ronora piece set with heart shaped stones, across rings, pendants and earrings. The heart is a modified brilliant with a cleft at the top and a point at the base, and it is the most technically demanding common shape to cut. Ronora lab grown diamonds are real CVD stones, VVS-VS clarity, D-E-F colorless; two pieces here are set with moissanite, stated on their product pages.
Symmetry, entirely. The two lobes must match in width and height, the cleft between them must be sharp and centred, and the bottom point must sit directly beneath it. Asymmetry in a heart is more noticeable than in any other shape because the brain already knows what a heart should look like.
Often yes. A pendant is viewed straight on, which shows the shape at its best, and the size constraint is looser than on a finger. Hearts below about 0.75 carat in a ring can be hard to read as hearts at all.
How should it be set? Five prongs, with a V-prong protecting the bottom point, which is the most chip-prone part.
Is it only for romantic gifts? Mostly, yes. It is the most explicitly sentimental shape, which is either the reason to choose it or the reason not to.
