Why does a cushion look warmer than a round?

Larger facets. Where a round brilliant scatters light into many small points, a cushion returns fewer but broader flashes, which the eye reads as warmth and fire rather than brightness. It is the closest modern shape to how diamonds looked before electric light.

Crushed ice or chunky?

These are the two cushion styles and they look genuinely different. Crushed ice has dense small faceting and a shimmering texture. Chunky, sometimes called antique cushion, has fewer large facets and bolder flashes. Decide which you prefer before choosing a stone, not after.
