A toi et moi ring holds two stones side by side on one band, usually angled toward each other. The name is French for "you and me", and the design says two people at a glance. The two stones can match or differ in shape, and the band is often open so the stones face one another.
What does toi et moi mean?
Toi et moi means "you and me" in French. Each stone stands for one person, which is why the ring is a popular choice for an engagement, a promise or an anniversary. The meaning comes from the design, not from a rule, so there is no right or wrong pairing of stones.

What does a toi et moi ring look like?
Two stones sit close together on the top of the ring. In an open or bypass band, the two ends of the band pass each other and each end holds one stone. In a closed band, both stones sit on top of one continuous band. Many designs tilt the stones slightly toward each other.
Which stone shapes pair well?
Matching shapes look balanced and calm, for example two pears or two ovals. Contrasting shapes look personal, for example pear with emerald cut, or heart with pear. A useful rule is to keep the two stones close in carat weight and visual size, so that neither looks like an afterthought.

How is a toi et moi different from a three stone or an east west ring?
A three stone ring has one main stone with two side stones. A toi et moi has two main stones and no side stones. An east west ring sets one elongated stone sideways across the finger. A toi et moi can also use elongated stones set across the finger, which is why the two styles overlap. Compare them in our east west rings.
How to choose a toi et moi ring
Start with the total carat weight, which is both stones together. Then choose the shapes, then the band. An open band is lighter and shows both stones clearly. A wider band feels more substantial. Because the ring is wider across the finger than a solitaire, check that it sits comfortably beside a wedding band before you order.
Every Ronora ring is made to order in your size and metal. Ronora lab grown diamonds are real CVD stones, graded VVS-VS clarity and D-E-F colorless, and cut to Excellent. Each product page states which stones are set and whether a stone carries an IGI report.

Frequently asked questions
Is a toi et moi ring good for an engagement?
Yes. It is a modern alternative to a single stone ring. Many people choose it for the meaning of two stones, or because two stones give a wider presence on the hand.
Which finger does a toi et moi ring go on?
Most people wear it on the left ring finger when it is an engagement ring. As a promise or fashion ring it can go on either hand.
Can the two stones be different shapes?
Yes, and many toi et moi rings are designed that way. Keep the two stones close in visual size so the pair stays balanced.
Is a toi et moi ring harder to wear?
It is wider across the finger than a solitaire, so choose a comfortable band width and check it fits beside a wedding band. Ronora makes each ring to order in your size.
Are lab grown diamonds real diamonds?
Yes. A lab grown diamond is chemically, physically and optically identical to a mined diamond. Ronora uses CVD (Chemical Vapor Deposition) stones.
