16 inches sits at the collarbone, 18 inches just below it, and 20 inches at the top of the neckline. 18 inches is the most common and layers well with a shorter chain.

Which setting suits a pendant best?

Bezel settings are the most practical, because a pendant knocks against clothing all day and a bezel has no prongs to catch on knitwear. Prong settings show more of the stone and return more light.

Will the pendant spin on the chain? Not if the bail is sized correctly for the chain. A bail that is too wide lets the pendant rotate and sit sideways.
